After a much-anticipated comeback in a Maalaala Mo Kaya episode last month, Kristine Hermosa is gearing up for a busy year ahead as she takes on the title role in remake of Maruja, the original Susan Roces 1967 film of the same title along with new Kapamilya artist Karylle. She is also set to be reunited with former on-and-off screen partner Jericho Rosales in another teleserye within the year.

Kristine also shares how thankful she is to be chosen for the role of Maruja.Very excited naman ako kasi parang of all the artists na mag-re-remake ng Maruja ni Miss Susan Roces, ako pa ang napili nila. Iniisip ko kung paano ko ito magagampanan na the way na mapantayan ko or at least magawa ko more, parang hindi puwedeng maging less. So ayun, Im really, really excited and very grateful naman din na binigay nila sa akin yung project. Sobrang exciting din kasi ito talaga yug first time na gagawa ako ng sobrang scary, hindi naman horror pero suspense na series kasi siyempre may nagaw na akong movie, pero yung series parang wow, ang cool. Yun lang. sobrang na-excite lang ako. Para bago naman, she says. Kristine says she has nothing but high hopes for the coming year. Kini-claim ko na talaga na 2009 is my year (laughs). So thank you. Im very, very thankful and grateful kasi alam kong gagawin niya yun. He will make it happen for me, she says.

The actress gave a special message for her loyal and devoted fans. Maraming, maraming salamat pos a paghihintay, sa pasensya, at sa lahat ng suporta na ibinibigay niya sa akin. Na kahit hindi nila ako nakikita sa TV for a long time, talagang nandiyadiyan pa rin kayo na patiently na nagaantay sa mga susunod na projects. Maraming maraming salamat and sana magkita-kita pa rin tayo at suportahan niyo ako sa lahat ng projects na gagawin ko. Thank you and Merry Christmas! she says.

A crowd of 15,001 fans at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and a worldwide HBO Pay-Per-View television audience witnessed what was described by HBO Sports President Ross Greenburg as "one of the greatest performances by a prize fighter I've seen in 31 years in this business."

Pacquiao, who began his career as a 106-pounder and had never before fought above 135 pounds, defied the big-man beats the smaller-man logic by winning his celebrated welterweight debut against the sport's most popular fighter.

Pacquiao not only won but also dictated virtually every round of the scheduled 12-round fight.

Showing why he's considered boxing's No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter, Pacquiao repeatedly struck with lightning-quick and precision hand speed to pummel De La Hoya to the face and body almost at will, and stayed fast and light on his feet to dance and dart away from taking a big punch, always circling to De La Hoya's right to avoid his vaunted left hook.

De La Hoya, the 1992 Olympic gold-medal winner and a professional world champion in six weight classes, was hammered as he never was in 44 previous bouts before trainer Nacho Beristain mercifully asked referee Tony Weeks to halt the carnage after eight one-sided rounds.
De La Hoya, ended up to a local hospital for a precautionary examination, never in his illustrious career had absorbed such a beating. Pacquiao’s hands were far too quick and, despite the fact that he was moving up from lightweight, much too hard for the Golden Boy to handle.

De La Hoya didn’t officially announce his retirement, but his business partners, Bernard Hopkins and Shane Mosley, spoke of his career in the past tense. In his brilliant career, De La Hoya took on most of the greatest fighters of his generation, but never before was he beaten as cleanly and decisively as he was by Pacquiao.

De La Hoya didn’t have that one last great fight left and was forced to accept a beating as the final act of a Hall of Fame career.

"He's a great fighter" Dela Hoya said after the fight. "My style is to go forward, but he was boxing on his toes all night and waiting for me to make my mistakes. I didn't have the strength to stop him. I felt really flat..."

For Pacquiao, the victory over the East Los Angeles-born, Mexican-American icon was the biggest achievement in his long career. He said he would be fighting for the pride of the Philippines and he did his nation proud.

"I knew right away I could win this fight,'' Pacquiao said. "I controlled the fight. I was able to defend against his jab. "I said speed would be the key and it was. This is a great victory for me and a great victory for my country."

Yes!!trulili....“It’s official…Jericho Rosales & Kristine Hermosa will be featured once again in a special episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya. Kung matatandaan, isa ang loveteam nila sa naging super popular loveteam ng ABS-CBN ng magtambal sila sa Pangako Sayo na nasundan pa ng mga maraming projects tulad ng Forevermore, Ngayong Nandito Ka at ang huling project na pinagsamahan nila na Sanay Wala Nang Wakas.

Aware ang ABS-CBN na up to now marami pa ring mga fans ng dalawa ang umaasa na magbabalik tambalan sila. Ang mga ito'y walang sawang umasa at patuloy na tumatangkilik sa kanilang tambalan kahit sila'y may kanya-kanyang mga tambalan at karelasyon sa isa't-isa.

Maaalalang nabalita na ang tungkol sa pagsasama ng ex-couple sa isang soap ng ABS-CBN. But that time, hindi pa masyadong solved pareho sina Jericho at Kristine. Dahil hindi masyadong interesado sa planong pagsamahin sila si Echo na noon ay lokong loko kay Heart at si babae naman na super ayaw sa pagpayag dahil super selos naman kay Kristine.

Ito ang naging pahayag ng GMA7 big boss, Ms. Wilma Galvante, GMA-7 SVP for Entertainment TV, sa text niya sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) November 19, ng tanungin siya hinggil sa paglipat ni Mr. Ocampo sa bakuran nila.

Unang lumabas ang balita sa column ni manay Ricky Lo ng Philippine STAR na nag-jumped ober da bakod nga raw si Diet from ABS-CBN to GMA-7. Ayon pa sa kanyang balita, pumirma ng maximum 4-year contract (opo sagad pati pato) si Diether sa GMA7 noong gabi ng lunes, November 17, 2008. Unang magiging project ni Diether daw sa Kapuso channel ay ang adaptation ng hit Koreanovela “All About Eve”, kasama si Sunshine Dizon, Iza Calzado, dating kapamilyang si Eula Valdez, Jean Garcia at Richard Gomez.

Nagpaalam naman daw ang Star Circle Batch 2 Member Diether Ocampo sa mga Bigwig ng ABS-CBN. Magkikita-kita na sila ng mga dating kapamilya turned kapuso na sila Paolo Contis, Camille Prats, Jolina Magdangal, Marvin Agustin at ang bagong lipat na si Heart Evangelista.

Ang last project ni Diet sa ABS-CBN ang primetime soap Iisa Pa Lamang, kung saan isa siya sa naging leading man ni Claudine Barretto, kasama ang ilang malalaki ring pangalan sa bakod ng ABS-CBN tulad ni Gabby Concepcion, Susan Roces, Joel Torre, Angelica Panganiban, Cherry Pie Picache at Jestoni Alarcon.

Matatandaan na nag-umpisa si Diether sa ABS-CBN bilang member ng Star Circle Batch 2. Kabilang siya sa Star Magic, ang Kapamilya network’s talent arm na pinamumunuan ni Mr. Johnny Manahan. Sa katunayan, kasama siya sa cover ng 2009 Catalogue of Star Magic.

Isa si Diether na maituturing na "bankable star" ABS-CBN, kaya ang kanyang paglipat ay isang malaking palaisipan sa kanyang mga tagahanga. Mayroon kayang kinalaman dito ang kanyang nakahiwalay na ex-wife/girlfriend Kristine Hermosa?

Ayon sa mga sinulat ni manay Lolit Solis, galing daw ito sa kanyang very reliable source. May halong pang-alinglangan dahil hindi naman daw ito nabalita man lang sa mga diyaryo at TV.

Obama makes history as the first black President of the United States

Barack Obama beats John McCain and his name etched in history as America's first black president. Young and charismatic but with little experience on the national level, Obama scored an Electoral College landslide easily defeated Republican John McCain and becomes America's 44th president. He was the first Democrat to receive more than 50 percent of the popular vote since Jimmy Carter in 1976.

The son of a Kenyan father and a white mother from Kansas, the 47-year-old Obama has had a startlingly rapid rise, from lawyer and community organizer to state legislator and U.S. senator, now just four years into his first term. He is the first senator elected to the White House since John F. Kennedy in 1960.

Obama won California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont, Washington and Wisconsin.

McCain had Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia and Wyoming. He also won at least 3 of Nebraska's five electoral votes, with the other two in doubt.

Obama and running mate Joe Biden will take their oath of office on Jan. 20, Democrats will control both the White House and Congress for the first time since 1994. The American people have called for change in America. They were dismayed by eight years of George W. Bush's presidency and deeply anxious about rising unemployment and home foreclosures and a battered stock market that has erased trillions of dollars of savings for Americans.

The sagging economy are the most important issue facing the nation in the voting poll. Obama's challenge will starts by leading a nation worried about economic crisis, two unfinished wars and global uncertainty. Obama has promised to cut taxes for most Americans, get the United States out of Iraq and expand health care, including mandatory coverage for children. Although Obama acknowledged that repairing the economy and dealing with problems at home and overseas will not happen quickly. He said it may take a year or even in one term to accomplish it.

McCain conceded defeat shortly after 11 p.m. EST. He said that Obama faces a staggering list of problems and pledge to help him as much as he could. President Bush also called Obama with congratulations at 11:12 p.m. EST. He promise to make the transition a smooth one. He invited Obama and his family to visit the White House soon.

Umuwi si Willie Sa Cabanatuan nu'ng November 1 upang dalawin ang puntod ng kanyang namayapang ama sa Cabanatuan kasama ang nababalitang girlfriend niya ngayon na si Nadine Ignacio kasama ang kapatid nito. Matapos ay dumiretso sila sa Subic at doon nagpalipas ng Sabado at Linggo,. Kaninang alas-tres ng madaling araw bumalik ng Manila si Willie at nadiskubre ang mga pangyayari. Laking gulat na lang nito nu'ng malaman niya na pinasok na pala ng mga magnanakaw ang kanyang bahay.

Marami ang naghihinala na baka isa itong inside job mula sa isa o mahigit pa na kasama sa mga magnanakaw na kilala rin ng personal ni Willie o kaya isa sa mga tauhan niya. Ganyun kilalang kilala ang naturang subdivision na isa sa mga pinakamahigpit ang seguridad. Mga kilalang personalidad ang mga nakatira sa naturang subdivision, isa na rito ay kung saan kahanay pa ni Willie on the same street ang bahay, si Senator Jinggoy Estrada.
